My imagery is representational without being realistic. It has been described as "whimsical" and sometimes, "surreal". "Organic" is another recent terminology. Rich, saturated colors and varied, textured surfaces are "organically" incorporated into each picture. I immerse myself in the subject matter, do a lot of drawing and come up with a balanced solution that is as personal to me as it is appropriate for the assignment. I usually work with gouache or acrylic paint and photograph the art work myself so I can quickly deliver a beautiful digital image.
